Escape Academy Game Pass: Both Games Available Day One

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from its November 5, 2026 launch. The puzzle adventure sequel joins the original Escape Academy in the service, giving Game Pass subscribers access to both games. Which Game Pass Tiers Include Escape Academy 2

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is included in two Game Pass subscription tiers:

• Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Full access on Xbox Series X|S and cloud streaming at launch
• PC Game Pass: Full access on Windows PC at launch

Game Pass Essential and Premium subscribers can stream the game only after purchasing it separately. The console versions require Game Pass Ultimate or a standalone purchase.

Escape Academy 2 Editions and Pricing

The game is available in two editions with different content packages:

The Season Pass includes two upcoming expansions with new escape rooms, side quests, and story content. Both expansions support solo and co-op play, locally or online. Season Pass and Deluxe Edition buyers receive the Mask-uerade cosmetic DLC immediately, which adds ten animal-themed masks connected to the Academy’s history.

What’s New in Escape Academy 2

The sequel transforms the escape room format into an open-world campus. Between handcrafted puzzle challenges, you explore a sprawling school filled with secret passages, hidden tunnels, and dangerous traps. The campus itself functions as a connected puzzle environment rather than separate rooms.

The campaign features veteran-designed escape rooms with interconnected micro-puzzles that build toward grand solutions. One example places you and a teammate inside a clock tower, racing against time while solving puzzles involving stray shapes, a spool of rope, scattered moons, and environmental clues.

The story centers on a mystery surrounding the Academy’s founding. New teachers join returning characters from the first game, with character-driven storylines and puzzle-filled side quests adding exploration incentives. The sequel includes a fresh soundtrack from returning composer DJ Doseone, redesigned environments, and new outfits for staff and students.

Co-Op Features and Platform Capabilities

Escape Academy 2 supports these multiplayer features across all platforms:

• Local co-op (2 players, shared/split screen)
• Online co-op (2 players)
• Xbox cross-platform co-op
• Single player mode

The split-screen design ensures both players always have tasks to solve simultaneously. You can divide and conquer while scouring rooms for clues. The split-screen remains active even in online play, letting your partner see what you’re holding or examining for clear communication.

The Xbox version runs optimized for Xbox Series X|S with 4K Ultra HD support, Xbox achievements, and Xbox cloud saves. The game also supports handheld devices and includes Xbox Cloud Gaming access for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

Original Escape Academy on Game Pass

The first Escape Academy remains available on Game Pass. The 2022 original delivered cleverly constructed individual escape rooms with puzzles designed by developers with real-world escape room experience. Additional DLC expanded the package after launch.

The original game earned positive reception for its varied locations, clever puzzle design, and particularly enjoyable two-player experience. Players work through interconnected micro-puzzles that come together for complete solutions, with split-screen cooperation that keeps both players engaged.
